How your Verification Record helps when you send a quote

A customer does not have to take your word for it. They can check your live record before they decide — and that is usually the moment a quote turns into a job.

What actually happens

A roofing job is used here as an example. The same five moments apply to plumbing, electrical work, heating, joinery, groundwork, decorating — any trade where someone is choosing between quotes.

  1. 1. Your quote

    Priced, clear, sent as normal.

  2. 2. Your code alongside it

One QR code or one link.

  3. 3. They open the record

In their own time, on their phone.

  4. 4. They decide

With checked information in front of them.

  1. 1. A customer needs work doing

Say a homeowner needs a new roof. They ask two or three businesses to come and price it up. At this point they know very little about any of you.

  2. 2. You visit and send a clear quote

You look at the job, explain what it needs, and send a straightforward quote with the price, the work included and how long it should take.

  3. 3. You include your record alongside it

With the quote you add your Approved Tradesman QR code or a link to your live Verification Record. Nothing extra to write, and nothing to claim.

  4. 4. The customer opens the record

They see what has been independently checked, which details are current, and when each item was last confirmed — in their own time, without asking you awkward questions.

  5. 5. They decide with more confidence

The decision stays theirs. But they are deciding with checked information in front of them rather than a gut feeling about whoever answered the phone first.

The quote is only half of it. What the customer can check about you is the other half.

Why it helps you win the work

None of this is about selling harder. It is about giving the customer something solid to look at while they make their mind up.

  • You don't have to make promises you can't back up

Instead of saying you're insured and qualified and hoping it lands, you point at a record someone else has checked. Quieter, and far more convincing.

  • The customer can check for themselves

People trust what they find themselves more than what they're told. Handing them something to check works in your favour.

  • The same code works everywhere

Quotes, email signatures, your website, the side of the van, business cards and printed leaflets. One code, one record, kept up to date in one place.

  • A live record beats a static badge

A printed logo says something was true once. A live record shows the current position at the moment it is opened — including anything that has since lapsed or been added.

  • It matters most when quotes look alike

When two prices are close, the business the customer can actually check usually gets the benefit of the doubt.

Being straight about what it is

Worth saying plainly, because customers ask and you should have a clear answer.

  • A record of checks, not a rating

It is a record of checks, not a review score or a rating. Nobody is scoring your work or ranking you against anyone else.

  • Checked business information

It shows checked information about your business — it is not a showcase of previous jobs.

  • No workmanship guarantee

It does not guarantee workmanship and it does not do the customer's thinking for them. They still weigh up the quote, the conversation and everything else.

  • Insurance remains subject to its terms

Where public liability insurance is shown as verified and in date, the customer can see that this item has been independently checked. Cover, exclusions and claims remain subject to the insurer's policy terms.
