Why Approved Tradesman?

Confidence before the work begins.

Choosing a tradesperson is a big decision. You want to feel confident about the business you're inviting into your home. We make important business information easier to see, check and understand — before work begins.

A message from the founder

I started Approved Tradesman for a really simple reason.

When you are about to spend serious money on your home — maybe £10,000 on a roof, £15,000 on a kitchen, or far more on an extension — choosing the right person can feel like a bit of a gamble.

You can get three quotes. They might all sound good. The prices may be close. But how do you know who you are really dealing with?

Customers should still do their own checks. Call the business. Talk to them properly. Look at work they have completed. Visit their website. Read their reviews. Ask questions.

Approved Tradesman does not replace any of that.

What we do is make factual information easier to find and check: who the business is, whether its details are current, and what information it has put forward to be checked. That may include identity, business details, insurance, qualifications or trade memberships, where those checks are available.

It is not a guarantee that every job will go perfectly. Nothing can honestly promise that. But if something does go wrong, it matters that you chose a business whose key information was visible, recorded and available for you to check from the start.

For good tradespeople, it gives them a fairer chance to stand out. They can show customers that they are willing to put useful information behind their name, before asking them to trust them with the work.

This is not another leads company. We are not selling diary systems, estimating tools or promises of more jobs. We are simply helping customers make a more informed choice — and helping tradespeople show the information that gives customers more confidence.

That is the point of Approved Tradesman.

What's at stake

That's a lot to trust to a quote.

  • £10,000

    New roof

  • £12,000

    New bathroom

  • £15,000

    New kitchen

  • £25,000

    Driveway

  • £60,000

    Loft conversion

  • £200,000

    Extension

Round example figures, not price guides.

A quote tells you the price. Not always the full picture.

When quotes look similar, it's hard to know what separates them. Who is the business? Are its details current? Is it insured? Has its identity been checked? That shouldn't be hard to find.

We make trust easier to see.

  • Clear business information

Business details that have been provided and kept up to date.

  • Checks shown clearly

Completed checks appear on the live record. Not every business has completed the same checks.

  • A record you can return to

A live record — and, where available, a certificate — to check again any time.

For customers: more confidence choosing.

No system removes every risk or decides for you. But when the facts are easy to see, you can ask better questions — and know the information was there to check from the start.

For tradespeople: credibility that stands out.

Between similar quotes, trust often decides. Show the information you're willing to put behind your name — no empty promises.

We are not another leads platform.

  • A company selling leads or promising jobs.
  • Estimating software.
  • A diary, invoicing or job-management system.
  • A marketplace that decides who you should choose.
  • A guarantee that work will be perfect or risk-free.

We bridge a simple trust gap: helping customers see useful information, and helping tradespeople show it clearly.
